Many suffer from allergies on a seasonal or, even worse, daily basis. Symptoms generally include a stuffy nose, itchy throat, postnasal drip, and red eyes that can make it difficult to concentrate on your work and enjoy your free time. Allergic reactions develop when your body is exposed to an external substance; one that is harmless to most, but your immune system interprets it as a foreign invader. These substances are called allergens.

In severe reactions, allergens can set off dangerous rashes or lead to breathing problems that require immediate medical attention. It is not always possible to avoid reaction-inducing substances, but you can look to treatment to help you manage your symptoms. Numerous over-the-counter and prescription medications exist to effectively alleviate or prevent allergy flare-ups.

Individuals who need help dealing with their allergies have a number of options.
